Unsightly spider veins and red blotches on the face affect millions of people. While they may not be medical emergencies, many of our patients would like to be rid of these unattractive and sometimes embarrassing distractions to their natural beauty.

Fortunately, our advanced technologies enable us to safely, easily and effectively treat these facial spider veins, also called telangiectasias.















We do not know all of the causes, but they are often  related to heredity, sun exposure or the aging process. They may also be related to rosacea, another treatable skin condition.

Today’s new light and laser technology delivers precise dosages of energy to each vein, with a minimal risk to the skin. During these treatments, light energy is delivered through a special handpiece to the targeted vein. The energy is then absorbed by the blood vessels. The heat/energy absorption causes a thermocoagulation (clogging) of the blood vessel. The clogged vessel is then slowly absorbed by the body.

Most clients describe the sensation to be like the snap of a rubber band on the skin as the pulses of energy are delivered through the handpiece. 
 

Depending on the size and extend of vessels being treated which will be discussed at your consultation.Most clients will see an improvement after one treatment but it is recommended to complete a course to eradicate completely.  Veins that are darker or purplish are usually more difficult to remove, and require more treatments. Treatments are spaced at four to six week intervals. Depending on the number of vessels treated and their location, treatments usually take 15-30  minutes.

Rosacea

In rosacea, the skin of the face and in particular the cheeks and nose tends to flush easily and over time becomes permanently red. A side effect of rosacea are thread veins that appear  on the cheeks and nose area. The condition is aggravated by sun exposure, emotion, climatic changes and some foods and beverages such as tea, coffee, spicy foods and alcohol. Most sufferers are keen to improve the skins appearance  laser treatments to reduce the redness and thread veins.
